Compliance & Privacy Specialist – EU Region

About the role

The Compliance Specialist will support TransPerfect’s Compliance & Privacy programs across the EU, ensuring that regulatory, statutory and internal requirements are met on time. Working under the direction of the Compliance & Privacy Team Lead and the Data Protection Officer, the role combines operational execution with stakeholder communication.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of all Data Subject Request (DSR) handling, monitor deadlines, assign tasks and communicate status.
• Lead investigations and draft responses for Data Subject Access Requests (DSAR).
• Monitor, research and interpret new or updated regulations relevant to compliance and privacy.
• Manage stakeholder communication, including responding to RFPs from clients, sales and management.
• Participate in internal audit activities: coordination, interviews, reporting and follow‑up.
• Travel or work flexible shifts to collaborate with global clients and colleagues.
• Drive continuous improvement of internal processes and adopt new compliance technologies.
• Apply project‑management principles to meet tight deadlines.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in compliance or privacy, or 1 year with a legal qualification.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; lawyer certification or relevant certifications (CIPP, CIPM) preferred.
• Certification as an internal auditor is a plus.
• Fluency in English; additional languages are advantageous.
• Strong written and verbal communication in native language and English.
• Ability to work under pressure, attention to detail and strong problem‑solving skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience using Confluence and JIRA or similar collaboration tools.
• Familiarity with request‑tracking systems and ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 27001).
