Buyer – Procurement of Machine Parts

About the role

As a Buyer based in Setubal, you will be responsible for sourcing machine parts and components for ZEISS, ensuring optimal cost‑benefit ratios and supporting production continuity. You will work closely with suppliers, internal departments and the warehouse to guarantee timely delivery and quality compliance. The role combines purchasing, negotiation and inventory management within an industrial environment.

Key responsibilities

• Purchase machine parts and components, ensuring the best cost‑benefit ratio.
• Negotiate price, delivery time and quality conditions with suppliers.
• Monitor and control warehouse inventory to guarantee material availability.
• Implement and optimise warehouse management processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Collaborate with other departments to forecast purchasing needs and adjust strategies.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory and purchasing transactions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Logistics or a related field.
• Minimum five years of proven purchasing experience in an industrial setting.
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Working knowledge of SAP (preferred).
