Buyer – Procurement (Full-time)

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Buyer to join our procurement team in Matosinhos. You will be responsible for managing day‑to‑day purchasing activities, ensuring that materials and components are ordered, delivered on time, and meet quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Create, issue and follow up Purchase Orders with vendors.
• Maintain regular communication with vendors regarding deliveries, order confirmations, delays and operational issues.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times and commercial conditions for routine purchases.
• Request, compare and evaluate quotations for new and existing components.
• Monitor price trends and identify cost‑reduction opportunities.
• Support vendor relationship management and escalate critical issues.
• Collaborate with Planning and Warehouse teams to ensure material availability and minimise shortages.
• Assist the Quality team with non‑conformities, claims and vendor documentation.
• Maintain and update ERP data (pricing, lead times, vendor information, purchasing conditions).
• Track procurement KPIs and contribute to reporting.
• Support inventory management by monitoring lead times, stock levels, MOQs and purchasing parameters.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives within procurement and supply‑chain processes.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement or supply‑chain roles.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented mindset with commercial awareness.
• Ability to work collaboratively across different teams.
• Flexible and solution‑oriented in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, SAP or similar).
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Knowledge of Power BI.
