Business Developer – C&I Solar & BESS

About the role

SparkWave Energy is expanding its Business Development team in Portugal and seeks a Business Developer focused on commercial‑and‑industrial (C&I) solar self‑consumption and battery storage solutions. The role will drive the full sales cycle, from identifying opportunities to negotiating and closing long‑term energy agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Originate and develop new C&I solar and BESS opportunities across Portugal.
• Build and manage relationships with industrial and commercial clients, partners and stakeholders.
• Design integrated energy solutions, including solar PV, BESS, PPAs and Renewable Energy Communities.
• Analyse clients' energy profiles and collaborate with technical and investment teams to create competitive proposals.
• Prepare, negotiate and finalize commercial proposals and long‑term energy contracts.
• Manage opportunities through the entire sales cycle and contribute to pipeline growth.

Required profile

• 5–10 years of professional experience in the Portuguese B2B energy market.
• Proven commercial track record in C&I solar self‑consumption, preferably with BESS exposure.
• Strong network and deep understanding of the Portuguese industrial and commercial sectors.
• Demonstrated ability to originate, negotiate and close projects.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, autonomy and results‑driven orientation.
• Fluency in Portuguese and English.
