Assistant Front Office Manager

About the role

Lisbon Surf Hostel is seeking an organised and proactive Assistant Front Office Manager to support the daily management of the reception team and ensure an exceptional guest experience. Working closely with the Hostel Manager, you will help oversee front‑desk operations, supervise staff and coordinate shifts in a dynamic, beach‑side environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Hostel Manager in day‑to‑day reception management.
• Supervise and assist Front Desk Receptionists.
• Coordinate reception schedules and shift organisation.
• Ensure smooth check‑in and check‑out processes.
• Assist with reservations and booking management.
• Respond to guest requests, resolve operational issues and handle complaints professionally.
• Monitor reception standards and service quality.
• Participate in onboarding and training of new reception staff.
• Process payments, invoices and produce daily reception reports.
• Maintain consistent reception procedures and support administrative tasks.

Required profile

• Previous experience in hospitality or front‑office operations.
• Leadership or supervisory experience is highly valued.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English (additional languages a plus).
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and comfort working in a fast‑paced environment.
• Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays as needed.
