Application Support Engineer – Banking Sector

About the role

Join Devoteam as an Application Support Engineer focused on the banking sector. You will ensure the stability and performance of critical applications, providing L2/L3 technical support and driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve technical and functional issues (L2/L3), performing root‑cause analysis.
• Oversee daily execution of management chains, including batch processing, data transfers, and workflow monitoring.
• Orchestrate software releases and hardware infrastructure updates while minimizing business disruption.
• Implement and supervise monitoring tools such as Dynatrace and Prometheus/Grafana.
• Develop automation scripts in Python/Bash and use Ansible for task automation and health checks.
• Create and maintain application documentation, runbooks, and operating procedures.
• Analyze application performance and user feedback to propose functional or technical upgrades.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with Linux (RHEL 7/8, SLES, Ubuntu), system administration, kernel tuning and performance optimization.
• Proficiency in SQL with ability to optimize queries, analyze execution plans and perform basic DBA tasks.
• Professional experience with Python, Bash/Shell scripting and solid knowledge of Ansible (playbook authoring, CI/CD integration).
• Familiarity with cloud environments, Docker and Kubernetes (basic pod debugging and log aggregation).
• Knowledge of Terraform or Helm is a plus.
• Proficient use of Dynatrace or other monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix).
• Solid understanding of ITIL/ITSM processes and experience with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or JIRA.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.
