AML Alert Specialist – Transaction Monitoring (Lisbon)

About the role

We are looking for an AML Alert Specialist to join a leading financial services client in Lisbon. The role focuses on reviewing high‑risk customers and transaction alerts to detect potential money‑laundering or terrorism‑financing activities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform timely and accurate reviews of high‑risk consumers and potential sanction matches.
• Analyze AML/CTF transaction monitoring alerts and document findings.
• Escalate any deviations or unusual consumer behaviour indicative of illicit activity.
• Meet performance expectations, including SLAs and quality standards.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of the client’s AML policies and procedures.
• Identify procedural or knowledge gaps and suggest improvements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on operational issues and improvement opportunities.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 months (analyst) or 12 months (senior) experience in KYC, EDD, AML, transaction monitoring or compliance within financial services or risk consulting.
• Experience in FinTech, banking or other financial institutions, preferably with operational responsibilities.
• Basic understanding of AML/CTF typologies and regulatory obligations (desirable).
• General knowledge of the financial services sector (e‑commerce, BNPL, retail banking, etc.).
• Fluent English and strong computer literacy.

• Base salary between €1,200 and €1,500 per month, adjusted for experience.
