AIT Technician – Satellite Assembly

About the role

Open Cosmos is looking for an AIT Technician to join its Assembly, Integration and Test (AIT) team in Coimbra, Portugal. You will be hands‑on in a clean‑room environment, turning satellite designs into flight‑ready hardware that will be launched into orbit.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical and electrical components of satellite payloads and bus structures.
• Perform soldering, crimping and harness building to high‑quality standards.
• Integrate completed spacecraft with launch vehicle adapters and conduct pre‑flight checks.
• Maintain cleanroom and ESD safety procedures throughout all tasks.
• Collaborate closely with engineers from multiple disciplines to resolve design and integration issues.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mechanical and electrical assembly.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work precisely.
• Proactive, organised and comfortable working in a team‑oriented environment.
• Legal right to work in Portugal.
