Accounts Payable (AP) Accountant – Finance Shared Services, Lisbon

About the role

The Accounts Payable (AP) Accountant will join a newly created Finance Shared Services Center in Lisbon. The position is responsible for end‑to‑end processing of supplier invoices and employee expense claims, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely payments across European and North American entities.

Key responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices (PO and non‑PO) in SAP, applying accounting policies, procurement rules and tax requirements.
• Execute standard payment runs, handle urgent, void or special payment requests and manage payment approvals.
• Resolve invoice exceptions by coordinating with Procurement, business requestors and vendors.
• Perform vendor statement and trade creditor reconciliations, and support month‑end and intercompany reporting.
• Administer travel & expense (T&E) validation, compliance checks and reporting.
• Maintain audit‑ready documentation for all AP and T&E activities.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve P2P processes, including automation initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience processing vendor invoices and payments in SAP.
• Good understanding of accounting policies, tax regulations and procurement procedures.
• Ability to perform reconciliations and support month‑end closing activities.
• Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
