Accounting Specialist – Europe

About the role

ChainGPT is seeking a hands‑on Accounting Specialist to own end‑to‑end accounting and core finance operations for a multi‑entity group operating across Europe. You will be responsible for audit‑ready books, disciplined controls, and compliant reporting of both crypto and fiat activities while working closely with senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly and year‑end close across all entities, ensuring accuracy, completeness and timeliness.
• Maintain the general ledger, including journal entries, accruals, prepaids, FX revaluation and supporting schedules.
• Run a standard close calendar and checklist, driving the close process to completion with clear deadlines.
• Manage a monthly exceptions queue (missing invoices, unidentified flows, stale reconciliations) and resolve items consistently.
• Keep documentation audit‑ready by default, with organized evidence for every material balance.
• Bookkeep across all entities, ensuring consistent policies, coding and documentation standards.
• Maintain clean intercompany operations: invoicing, reconciliations, balances and interest accruals.
• Lead end‑to‑end crypto transaction accounting across wallets, exchanges, custodians and tokens.
• Reconcile crypto balances with strong audit trails (wallet addresses, transaction hashes, exchange statements).
• Define classification rules for crypto flows and maintain schedules for realized/unrealized gains and cost basis.
• Implement finance controls appropriate for a lean team and maintain a compliance calendar.
• Coordinate with external accountants, auditors and tax advisors.

Required profile

• Hands‑on accounting professional with experience in multi‑entity and intercompany accounting.
• Strong knowledge of crypto accounting and reconciliation processes.
• Detail‑oriented with a focus on audit readiness and documentation.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate closely with leadership.
