Accounting Controller

About the role

The Accounting Controller will help implement and maintain a robust control environment across Finance functions in all regions and entities supervised by Corporate & Institutional Banking. The role ensures high‑quality financial data reporting to headquarters and local authorities while supporting regional Accounting Controls teams.

Key responsibilities

• Acquire deep knowledge of accounting control setups in assigned regions and entities.
• Build trusted, two‑way communication with regional stakeholders.
• Roll out and monitor the Group Accounting Control Plan.
• Conduct on‑site audits, identify deficiencies, and prepare reports for senior management.
• Ensure regional finance teams comply with control obligations and implement prescribed procedures.
• Obtain and analyse Financial Accounting Control Test (FACT) certificates.
• Monitor and follow up on recommendations from internal audit, regulators, and external auditors.
• Track operational risk incidents affecting the control framework.
• Lead quarterly Internal Control Committee meetings and contribute to the Accounting and Financial Risk Committee.
• Hold ad‑hoc meetings with regional finance teams and ensure other control plans are deployed.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in control, finance or audit.
• Strong accounting expertise and fluency in English (spoken and written).
• Excellent communication, teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage priorities under tight deadlines and adapt workload.
• Detail‑oriented, rigorous, reliable, open‑minded and well‑organized.
• Proven ability to build networks, support change and inspire others.
