Accountant – US GAAP (Hospitality Focus)

About the role

Howard Financial is seeking a sharp, reliable Accountant to manage day‑to‑day accounting for a portfolio of hospitality clients operating under US GAAP. This client‑facing position offers full ownership of the accounting cycle while working remotely from anywhere in LATAM or Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Own full‑cycle accounting for hospitality clients, including general ledger management, month‑end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with US GAAP.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Coordinate directly with clients to gather information, clarify transactions, and communicate results.
• Identify discrepancies, process gaps, or improvement opportunities and act proactively.
• Adapt quickly to evolving client needs across hotels, restaurants, and related businesses.

Required profile

• 3+ years of accounting experience with full close‑cycle ownership.
• Solid working knowledge of US GAAP applied consistently.
• Experience serving US‑based or US‑facing clients.
• Ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English.
• Self‑directed, organized, and able to work without micromanagement.
