Accountant (SAP) – 6 to 12 month contract

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join a global leader in the energy sector on a 6‑to‑12‑month fixed‑term contract. The role is based in Lisbon and combines office presence three days a week with remote work, offering exposure to a multidisciplinary team and a dynamic business environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accounting records in SAP (invoices, purchases, fixed assets, sales, provisions, and deferrals).
• Perform account reconciliations and month‑end closings.
• Analyse balance‑sheet items and support tax assessments.
• Prepare and analyse annual accounts and financial statements.
• Control intercompany balances and transactions.
• Provide information for internal control, audits, and regulatory compliance.
• Participate in cross‑functional projects and propose process automation improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Management, Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in accounting.
• Knowledge of IFRS standards is highly valued.
• Proficiency in English.

Required skills

• Practical experience with SAP modules FI, AA, MM, and SD.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office tools.
• Familiarity with Power Query or other automation tools.
