Vendor Planner – Maternity Leave Replacement

About the role

BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is seeking a dynamic Vendor Planner to cover a maternity leave at its production plant in Viana, Portugal. The role focuses on ensuring seamless material flow from suppliers to the shop floor, maintaining inventory targets and supporting production continuity.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate proactively with suppliers via EDI or Web EDI to track materials, fulfill requirements and submit Advanced Shipping Notices (ASN).
• Monitor raw‑material demand versus coverage, maintaining a minimum of 12 inventory turnovers using SAP.
• Configure SAP material and supplier settings (MOQ, transit time, rounding, planning calendar, Incoterms).
• Coordinate material pickup requests and update the Transportation team through SharePoint.
• Ensure timely receipt of purchase orders, follow up with the warehouse and avoid production downtime (KPI).
• Identify, anticipate and mitigate supply risks, leveraging ERP tools for continuous improvement.
• Perform regular line‑side inventory checks to verify ERP stock accuracy.
• Evaluate monthly supplier on‑time delivery performance and collaborate with Purchasing on new‑project material management.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to compare customer needs and purchasing requirements.
• Excellent communication skills for supplier and internal stakeholder interaction.
• Detail‑oriented approach to ensure accurate SAP configurations and inventory records.
• Proactive attitude to identify risks and implement corrective actions.

Required skills

• Experience with EDI/Web EDI platforms.
• Proficiency in SAP (material master, purchasing, inventory).
• Familiarity with SharePoint for data entry and workflow coordination.
• Working knowledge of ERP systems for inventory and supply‑chain management.
