VAT Compliance Consultant – German-Speaking

About the role

Ryan is hiring a German-speaking VAT Compliance Consultant. Consultants provide VAT compliance services and advice to clients across sectors and countries, anticipating changes in VAT legislation and advising clients on their compliance needs. They also prepare and submit VAT declarations for strategic transactions and manage client and tax authority relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Understand clients' businesses and flows so that VAT compliance is efficient and declarations are submitted on time.
• Analyse VAT data submitted by clients and prepare and validate VAT declarations in line with local legislation.
• Act as a point of contact for clients and prepare reports and advisory emails.
• Act as a point of contact with tax authorities in countries where clients conduct strategic transactions.
• Handle information requests and audits carried out by tax authorities on behalf of clients.
• Follow up VAT registration and deregistration processes.
• Help clients and individuals plan VAT strategies and prepare for future financial needs.
• Research and update the VAT knowledge database.
• Assist Senior Consultants and Managers with complex client issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law, Management or Economics.
• Fluent English and German, spoken and written; additional languages are valued.
• Ability to work with clients and tax authorities in several jurisdictions.

Required skills

• Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Internet navigation and research.
