VAT Compliance Consultant – German Speaker

About the role

The VAT Compliance Consultant provides specialist VAT compliance and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of clients operating across multiple jurisdictions. The role focuses on preparing and submitting VAT returns, managing client relationships, and liaising with tax authorities, with a particular emphasis on supporting German‑speaking clients.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and understand client business flows to ensure timely and accurate VAT compliance.
• Prepare, validate, and submit VAT declarations and related documentation in each relevant country.
• Analyze client‑provided VAT data to ensure conformity with local legislation.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and tax authorities on strategic transactions.
• Handle information requests and audits from tax authorities on behalf of clients.
• Assist senior staff with complex business issues and VAT registration/deregistration processes.
• Research and update internal VAT knowledge bases to stay current with legislative changes.
• Support clients in developing VAT strategies and preparing for future financial market activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law, Management, Economics, or a related field.
• Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken.
• Strong client‑facing and communication skills.
• Ability to work across multiple jurisdictions and liaise with tax authorities.
• Interest in research, problem‑solving, and delivering high‑quality advisory services.
