Union Dietitian

About the role

The Union Dietitian provides comprehensive nutritional services to in‑center and home dialysis patients, aiming to optimize nutritional status and improve clinical outcomes. Working as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team, the dietitian supports quality improvement initiatives and collaborates closely with physicians and other clinicians.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients' knowledge of diet and kidney disease and deliver tailored education.
• Perform detailed nutritional assessments and contribute to interdisciplinary comprehensive assessments.
• Develop individualized care plans, calculate diet prescriptions, and document progress notes per FMCNA guidelines.
• Monitor albumin levels, body weight, fluid status, and relevant lab parameters on a monthly basis.
• Identify malnutrition risk, adjust nutrition therapy, and document barriers to goal achievement.
• Collaborate on urea kinetic modeling, mineral metabolism, anemia management, and other renal‑specific interventions.

Required profile

• Registered Dietitian or equivalent credential with experience in renal nutrition.
• Strong understanding of kidney disease, dialysis modalities, and related laboratory values.
• Ability to work within interdisciplinary teams and contribute to quality improvement programs.
• Excellent documentation skills adhering to federal, state, and organizational policies.
