Tool Room Manager

About the role

The Tool Room Manager leads the tooling department in a fully onsite manufacturing plant, ensuring quality, cost, delivery and performance targets are met while optimizing personnel and equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, manage and guide the tooling team to achieve short‑ and long‑term objectives.
• Oversee conservation, maintenance, process control and analysis of equipment and machinery.
• Release processes, work instructions, manufacturing regulations and technical equipment.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on complex issues and support cross‑functional interfaces.
• Develop and assess capital investments for molds and tooling, including CAPEX planning.
• Lead project and personnel planning to optimize internal and external capacities.
• Coach the team in continuous improvement, Lean culture and compliance with company policies.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree or technical degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Tool & Die, Industrial Technology or related field; Bachelor’s preferred.
• 7‑10 years of toolroom, mold maintenance or tool‑and‑die experience.
• 2‑5 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a technical/manufacturing environment.
• Hands‑on expertise in mold troubleshooting, repair and high‑precision manufacturing.
• Bilingual Spanish/English.

Required skills

• CNC, EDM, grinding, lathe, milling, fitting and assembly operations.
• Root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• cGMP knowledge and application.
• CAD/CAM, SAP or CMMS systems.
• Lean, Six Sigma or other continuous‑improvement training.
