Tax Compliance Director – Certified Accountant

About the role

Auxadi is seeking an experienced Tax Compliance Director who holds a Certified Accountant credential in Portugal. The role will lead the tax function, ensuring full compliance with Portuguese regulations while supporting strategic business decisions for a diverse client portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee tax compliance, reporting, and planning for multiple clients, ensuring accurate preparation and submission of corporate tax obligations such as CIT and VAT.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the tax team, fostering a high‑performance culture and managing talent development and succession planning.
• Monitor KPIs, workload planning, and service performance to maintain operational excellence.
• Supervise technical tax compliance activities, ensuring alignment with Portuguese tax law and supporting audits and inspections.
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients and tax authorities, managing stakeholder relationships and proactive communication.
• Track legislative changes and implement proactive solutions to keep the tax function compliant and up‑to‑date.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Management or Law.
• Certified Accountant in Portugal (mandatory).
• 15+ years of tax experience, including senior leadership roles.
• Deep expertise in the Portuguese tax framework.
• Experience in multinational professional services environments.
• Fluent English and strong stakeholder management abilities.
