Tax Advisor – VAT

About the role

FedEx is seeking a Tax Advisor specialized in Value Added Tax (VAT) to join its European tax team. You will act as a trusted advisor, ensuring VAT compliance and tax‑efficient transaction structuring across multiple markets.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance on VAT compliance and transaction structuring for business units.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and external advisors to interpret and apply VAT regulations in the UK, Hungary, Poland, and Portugal.
• Handle day‑to‑day VAT queries and ensure timely, practical advice.
• Support VAT reporting initiatives, including e‑invoicing projects, and oversee accurate data submission.
• Assist with VAT audits and inquiries from European tax authorities, preparing documentation and responses.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of the company’s indirect tax control framework.
• Drive VAT awareness through training, guidance, and updates on legislative changes.
• Maintain relationships with tax authorities, industry associations, and external consultants.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Tax Law, Fiscal Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in VAT advisory, preferably within a multinational environment.
• Proven ability to work independently and influence cross‑functional teams.
