Supply Chain Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

As a Supply Chain Manufacturing Engineer you will join the Airbus Aerostructures procurement team in Lisbon, supporting the Procurement Cost & Value Engineering function and acting as the technical bridge between purchasing, suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the technical interface of purchasing to the supply chain, including suppliers and other functions.
• Create and validate technical specifications for transferred work activities and relocation package components.
• Conduct technical assessments of industrial concepts and work‑package feasibility.
• Analyze and evaluate supplier offers regarding production times, set‑up times, resources and optimisation potential.
• Lead design‑to‑cost projects with suppliers and identify cost‑optimisation opportunities.
• Carry out technical shop‑floor assessments at supplier sites and track the effectiveness of improvement measures.
• Support audits as a technical expert.

Required profile

• Diploma or Master in engineering, materials science or a comparable qualification.
• Sound knowledge of manufacturing composite and/or metallic materials and production processes.
• Understanding of lean manufacturing, focused factory and Six Sigma concepts.
• Project‑management experience and knowledge of procurement processes (a plus).
• Strong analytical, presentation and structured‑working skills.
• Team player with an entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to travel occasionally.
• Negotiation‑level English; German is a plus.
• Experience with Google tools, PLM, SAP and PAS SSI is a plus.
