Supply Chain Manager

About the role

The Supply Chain Manager will report directly to the Plant General Manager and lead the end‑to‑end supply chain function for a large international manufacturing site in Porto. This senior position focuses on production planning, demand management and S&OP, ensuring that manufacturing capacity aligns with market demand while maintaining high service levels.

Key responsibilities

• Lead production planning, demand forecasting and S&OP activities.
• Align manufacturing capacity with customer demand and business forecasts.
• Optimise inventory levels while preserving strong customer service.
• Oversee procurement, supplier performance and material availability.
• Support warehousing, distribution and transportation efficiency.
• Monitor key supply chain KPIs and drive performance improvements.
• Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives across the supply chain function.
• Manage, coach and develop the local supply chain team.
• Collaborate closely with manufacturing, commercial and corporate stakeholders.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong background in planning, forecasting, MRP and S&OP.
• Proven experience leading and developing teams.
• Hands‑on leadership style, operating close to the shop floor.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and problem‑solving skills.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English.
• Experience in FMCG or other fast‑paced production environments is a plus.
