About the role
The Supplier Relationship Manager will join the European Portfolio Management team within the Research and Safety Market Division. This position focuses on driving commercial performance, cost optimisation and value creation across a defined supplier portfolio, supporting the division’s profitability and strategic goals.
Key responsibilities
- Support the business in achieving category KPIs such as savings, cash‑flow improvement, risk management and spend under agreement.
- Drive measurable cost improvements, including price reductions, rebates and total‑cost‑of‑ownership optimisation.
- Lead supplier contract negotiations to enhance profitability, cash flow and risk mitigation, ensuring >80% of strategic spend is under contract.
- Own and execute the annual price‑review process, challenging cost increases with benchmarking, market intelligence and data analysis.
- Secure competitive commercial frameworks and scalable supply‑chain setups for portfolio expansion.
- Assist category managers in supplier performance reviews to meet contractual obligations and continuous‑improvement targets.
- Collaborate with EU category leaders and cross‑functional stakeholders (supply chain, finance, marketing, quality, legal, etc.) to align sourcing activities with common goals.
Required profile
- Proven experience in strategic procurement or sourcing within a global or multi‑regional environment.
- Strong negotiation and commercial acumen with a focus on cost reduction and cash‑flow improvement.
- Ability to analyse market data, benchmark costs and develop data‑driven insights.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, working closely with category, finance, supply‑chain and legal teams.
