About the role

Miyamoto International is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Puerto Rico office, contributing to high‑performance earthquake and structural engineering projects that improve safety and resilience for communities worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare proposals and assist in establishing and managing project budgets and schedules.
• Create and maintain client relationships while leading engineering teams on structural design projects.
• Perform advanced structural analysis and design using all common building materials.
• Lead engineering teams and collaborate on multiple tasks to deliver project outcomes.
• Contribute to business‑development strategies and inspire new ideas within the organization.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in structural engineering or a related field (master’s degree desirable).
• 10+ years of structural engineering design experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Fluency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong project management experience.
• Self‑motivated leader with exceptional communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, demonstrate flexibility, organization, and accountability.
