SOX & Internal Controls Tester

About the role

The SOX & Internal Controls Tester will join the European SOX & Compliance team to execute control testing, document processes, and help ensure adherence to Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) requirements. This position is ideal for professionals with audit or internal‑control experience who enjoy detailed testing and cross‑functional collaboration in a global environment.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with GBS, BPO and country finance teams to complete and implement post‑Phoenix Risk & Controls matrices.
• Execute SOX test procedures independently according to the annual test plan, select samples, gather evidence, assess effectiveness and document results.
• Identify and escalate potential control deviations.
• Maintain audit‑ready testing documentation and review DTPs for accuracy.
• Support updates to control matrices and assist with documentation for Project Phoenix and Darwin.
• Prepare data and reports to support SOX program activities.
• Collaborate with multicultural teams across multiple geographies, communicating testing requirements clearly.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in audit, internal controls or a similar function.
• Strong Excel and documentation skills.
• Hands‑on experience with SOX/internal‑controls testing.
• Experience in shared‑services or outsourced environments is a plus.
