Software Engineer II – Full Stack (Web Engineering)

About the role

Elastic is looking for a Software Engineer II to join the Web Engineering team that powers elastic.co. You will own end‑to‑end features, ensuring the site remains fast, reliable, and secure at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and ship full‑stack features from React components to backend services.
• Instrument client‑side performance (Core Web Vitals, error tracking) and backend observability (logging, metrics, tracing).
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver high‑quality releases.
• Write clean, maintainable code and take ownership of its behavior in production.
• Triage and resolve security vulnerability reports, from reproduction to coordinated disclosure.
• Participate in code reviews, diagnose production incidents, and join the on‑call rotation.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in a full‑stack or frontend role.
• Deep expertise with TypeScript and React (component architecture, performance, state management).
• Hands‑on experience building and operating production services using Node.js, Python, or Go.
• Experience owning CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins or similar) end‑to‑end.
• Proven ability to leverage AI tools to accelerate development, debug complex systems, and optimise code.
