Simultaneous Engineering & Mechanical Sample Assessment Engineer

About the role

You will ensure seamless alignment between product development and manufacturing from concept to industrialisation, supporting robust and scalable assembly processes worldwide. The role focuses on driving Simultaneous Engineering activities and leading mechanical sample assessments for international projects.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate Simultaneous Engineering activities with mechanical design, hardware, layout, and supplier teams.
• Support and evolve best‑practice guidelines within the Simultaneous Engineering framework.
• Identify new assembly technology requirements and update technical guidelines.
• Lead mechanical sample assessments, plan and moderate assessment meetings, and track decisions.
• Define and manage containment and corrective actions for concept and process issues.
• Monitor project maturity and readiness using RTC and Jira.
• Create and align Device Assembly Specifications (DAS) and related documentation.
• Act as a key stakeholder for DFMA, PFMEA and DFMEA activities.
• Perform assembly/disassembly risk assessments and provide structured feedback.
• Define and assess packaging concepts for customers and single parts.

Required profile

• Experience in automotive or industrial product development and manufacturing.
• Strong collaboration skills with cross‑functional teams and external suppliers.
• Ability to manage complex projects, drive decisions and ensure follow‑up.
• Attention to detail and systematic approach to risk assessment.
