Shift Lead – Retail Store Operations

About the role

The Shift Lead is responsible for opening and closing the store in the absence of management, ensuring all systems, cash handling, and floor readiness are completed. This role delivers a distinctive and delightful customer experience while overseeing daily store operations.

Key responsibilities

• Open and close the store, manage system start‑ups, cash handling, and prepare the floor and stockroom for business.
• Handle product returns, order voids, customer refunds, cash drops, and provide change to registers.
• Engage customers, resolve issues, and model best‑practice service habits.
• Maintain store keys, supervise vendor deliveries, and assist with warehouse ordering processes.
• Register sales accurately, manage scanning errors, price verifications, and voids.
• Support managers with order exceptions, reverse logistics, and visual merchandising.
• Maintain accurate inventory counts and ensure proper pricing and signage.
• Assist with bookkeeping tasks such as cash reports, ledgers, and bill payments.
• Ensure store cleanliness, maintenance requests, and compliance with food safety and stock rotation policies.
