Senior Transmission Line Engineer 2 – Grid

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to lead the design of 69kV‑500kV transmission projects. You will apply deep knowledge of conductors, structures, insulation, and electrical principles while mentoring junior staff and collaborating with a diverse client base.

Key responsibilities

• Design transmission lines, including routing, siting, and conductor selection.
• Perform cost analyses, develop design criteria, and create cost estimates and proposals.
• Conduct shielding, grounding, and induction studies.
• Coordinate with vendors, clients, and construction teams to specify components and ensure compliance with codes.
• Lead a small project team and mentor less‑experienced engineers.
• Travel occasionally for site visits and client meetings.

Required profile

• ABET‑accredited engineering degree.
• 7+ years of transmission line design experience.
• Proficiency with PLS‑CADD for model review.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English (read, speak, write).
• Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

• Design codes and standards: NESC, IEC, CSA, IEEE, ANSI, IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI 318
• Right‑of‑way analysis, conductor sag/tension calculations, and technical drawing production.
• Familiarity with PLS‑TOWER, SAG10, LPILE, MFAD, ArcGIS, CDEGS, AutoCAD, MicroStation (optional but valued).
