Senior Technical SEO Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Technical SEO Specialist to lead the technical optimisation of a fast‑growing digital platform. Based in Portugal, you will work closely with content, engineering and editorial teams to improve visibility on traditional search engines and emerging AI‑powered discovery platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the technical SEO strategy, aligning with content and engineering teams.
• Conduct comprehensive technical audits covering architecture, crawling, indexation, Core Web Vitals, structured data and internal linking.
• Research, test and implement new approaches such as Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) and Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO).
• Monitor rankings, AI citations, click‑through rates and other KPIs, providing actionable recommendations.
• Build AI‑assisted workflows for SEO analysis, reporting and content production.
• Collaborate with engineering to implement scalable technical improvements.

• Highly analytical SEO professional with strong technical expertise.
• Experience improving website visibility at scale.
• Curiosity for automation, AI tools and emerging digital trends.

Required skills

• Technical SEO and on‑page optimisation.
• Website architecture and Core Web Vitals.
• Google Analytics and Google Search Console.
• Ahrefs, Screaming Frog or similar SEO tools.
• Structured data (Schema.org) implementation.
• Experience with AI‑powered search platforms (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews).
