Senior Structural Engineer – Hybrid (Aguadilla, PR)

About the role

RTX’s Collins Aerospace division is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join its Aguadilla, Puerto Rico team. The position is hybrid, with three days onsite and two days remote, and requires the candidate to be a U.S. citizen residing in Puerto Rico.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate technical topics clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Review engineering drawings and models for structural integrity and FAA compliance.
• Conduct peer reviews, provide feedback, and mentor junior engineers.
• Collaborate with Integrated Product Teams to identify risks and opportunities.
• Coordinate with design teams to ensure robust designs meet environmental and program requirements (shock, vibration, crash loading).
• Document analysis results for internal use and customer airworthiness certification.
• Lead investigations of complex, open‑ended issues and perform root‑cause analysis.
• Act as functional lead for the stress team on assigned projects.

Required profile

• STEM degree (Engineering, Science, Technology, Mathematics).
• Minimum 5 years of relevant structural engineering experience.
• U.S. citizenship (required for program access).
• Residency in Puerto Rico at start of employment.
• Ability to work in a hybrid schedule (3 onsite, 2 remote).
