Senior Search Engine Optimization Specialist

About the role

Zendesk is seeking a Senior Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Specialist to lead organic search and AI‑enhanced discovery initiatives across key international markets, including Germany, the UK, ANZ, India and Singapore. The role combines strategic, technical and analytical expertise to boost visibility, traffic and pipeline influence.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute SEO and Answer‑First Optimization (AEO) strategies for multiple markets, tracking visibility, traffic, MQLs and pipeline impact.
• Lead German‑language SEO work: keyword, intent, SERP and competitive analysis, and localized content evaluation.
• Identify and prioritize content opportunities in partnership with Content, Localization, Regional Marketing and Product Marketing teams.
• Plan, run and document SEO/AEO experiments, scaling successful tactics across markets.
• Maintain technical SEO health—crawling, indexing, internal linking, site architecture, structured data, Core Web Vitals and discoverability.
• Conduct technical audits, translate findings into actionable recommendations and collaborate with Web and Engineering for implementation.
• Develop AI‑powered automations and agentic workflows using LLMs, APIs, scripting or workflow platforms to scale research, optimization and reporting.
• Analyze performance with GA4, Google Search Console, Snowflake and SEO/AEO tools, linking organic results to business outcomes.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in international SEO and AEO, preferably with exposure to AI‑driven discovery.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into clear priorities.
• Independent executor with excellent prioritization and cross‑functional influence.
