Senior QA Engineer (Automation-Focused, AI-Native)

About the role

PlanetPlanet is seeking a Senior QA Engineer to join its Hospitality team. The position focuses on functional testing and test automation for complex hotel management workflows, leveraging AI tools daily to accelerate quality delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute functional and exploratory testing across reservations, billing, check‑in/out, housekeeping, events, and guest profiles.
• Test and validate REST APIs, including requests, responses, status codes, data contracts, and edge cases.
• Investigate, reproduce, and document bugs with clear, actionable reports.
• Design, build, and maintain an end‑to‑end automation framework using Playwright and TypeScript for UI and API layers.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) and manage test reporting with Allure and Xray/Jira.
• Use AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor) for test creation, debugging, data generation, and code review.
• Apply AI‑assisted techniques for test generation, root‑cause analysis, and flakiness reduction.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in code reviews focused on quality and maintainability.
• Collaborate with developers and product managers to define test strategies and shift quality left.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in QA engineering with strong functional testing and automation background.
• Proven ability to test and debug REST APIs independently.
• Hands‑on experience building Playwright frameworks with TypeScript.
• Daily use of AI tools such as GitHub Copilot or ChatGPT in the engineering workflow.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and test traceability tools.
