Senior Piping Stress Engineer (Industrial Mechanics)

About the role

Quadrante is seeking a Senior Piping Stress Engineer to join its Industrial Mechanics team in Porto. You will lead the design and development of piping systems across multidisciplinary EPC/EPCM projects, covering industrial energy, oil & gas, renewable hydrogen, biogas and biomethane.

Key responsibilities

• Lead piping design from feasibility and FEED through detailed design, construction support and commissioning.
• Prepare and review technical documentation such as feasibility studies, specifications, plant layouts, 3D models, P&IDs, isometrics and cost estimates.
• Develop work plans, track progress, manage long‑lead items and report to the Project Manager.
• Conduct pipe stress analysis (CAESAR II), flexibility studies, hydraulic calculations, support design and nozzle load assessments.
• Represent the piping discipline in interdisciplinary coordination meetings, design reviews and client interactions.
• Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, SIL and constructability reviews.
• Contribute to tools, standards and methodologies to improve efficiency and quality.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Fluid Mechanics, Energy or Structural focus preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial piping design.
• Proficiency in English.
• Experience with renewable hydrogen, biomethane/biogas or related industrial piping is a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced pipe stress analysis using CAESAR II (ASME B31.1/B31.3, EN 13480).
• Proficiency with E3D (PDMS), AutoCAD Plant 3D and ANSYS.
• Knowledge of DVGW regulations, ISO 15649 and PED 2014/68/EU.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize and maintain attention to detail.
