Senior Mechanical Engineer – Nuclear Power Plant Design

About the role

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer you will support the design, modification, and operation of nuclear power plant systems. The position blends technical engineering work with client interaction and leadership of project teams, while leveraging modern automation and AI tools.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review modification packages for operating nuclear power plants.
• Create functional mechanical drawings and system documentation.
• Conduct engineering analyses and evaluations to support plant modifications and operations.
• Develop technical specifications, procurement documents, and vendor bid evaluations.
• Perform studies and option evaluations for plant modifications.
• Develop engineering cost estimates for client‑requested scopes.
• Visit client offices or plant sites to present engineering status and findings.
• Lead engineering project teams and mentor junior staff.

Required profile

• BS or MS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the nuclear power industry.
• Working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
• PE license preferred but not required.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English (spoken, read, written).
• U.S. work authorization (no sponsorship provided).

• MATLAB scripting for calculations.

• Use of AI/automation tools to improve workflows.
