Senior Lead Software Engineer – Tax Solutions (FinTech)

About the role

Agoda is looking for a Senior Lead Software Engineer to own the architecture and roadmap of its Tax technology ecosystem within the FinTech division. Based in Bangkok with relocation support, you will partner with Finance, product, and engineering teams to build resilient, enterprise‑grade tax platforms that power global financial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical direction of Agoda’s tax platforms, ensuring scalability, security, and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with finance domain experts and product managers to translate complex tax rules into robust system designs.
• Guide architectural decisions, evaluate trade‑offs, and mentor engineering teams throughout implementation.
• Ensure platform observability, resilience, and adaptability to high transaction volumes and evolving regulations.
• Balance compliance requirements with engineering velocity, cost efficiency, and long‑term quality.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a platform architect or senior technical leader in a FinTech or large‑scale SaaS environment.
• Strong understanding of tax technology, financial systems, and regulatory landscapes.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with finance, product, and engineering stakeholders.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and a track record of delivering complex, mission‑critical solutions.
