Senior Hardware Engineer - SAR Payloads

About the role

The SAR Product Team at Tekever is looking for an experienced Senior Hardware Engineer to lead the design and development of advanced electronic systems for airborne and spaceborne SAR payloads. The role combines a strong technical background with leadership, as the engineer supports and mentors junior team members while working closely with Product, RF, FPGA, Software, Mechanical and Manufacturing teams. The position is hybrid and based in Porto.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development of electronic hardware for SAR payloads, ground systems and supporting equipment
• Define hardware architectures and allocate requirements across subsystems
• Perform technical trade-off analyses and component selection
• Review hardware designs and ensure compliance with project requirements and engineering standards
• Provide technical guidance and support to engineers across the development lifecycle

Required profile

• Master's degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering or equivalent
• At least 7 years of experience in electronic hardware development
• Advanced proficiency in Portuguese and English (C2 level)
• Good team spirit, communication skills and ability to handle complex problems in an innovation environment

Required skills

• Digital and analogue circuit design, including mixed-signal
• Schematic capture and PCB design tools
• High-speed interfaces: Ethernet, DDR memory, SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, USB, PCIe
• Laboratory instrumentation: oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators
• Communication protocols and bus systems (Ethernet, CAN, SPI, I2C)
