Senior DevOps Engineer – Cloud & Networking

About the role

Present Technologies, a top‑rated workplace in Portugal, is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer with strong networking expertise. You will design, implement and maintain secure, scalable cloud and hybrid network architectures while collaborating closely with software engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain resilient network architectures across cloud and hybrid environments.
• Configure and manage VPCs, subnets, routing, firewalls, load balancers, DNS, VPNs and peering connections.
• Ensure network security and compliance, applying IAM policies and zero‑trust principles.
• Troubleshoot and optimise network performance (latency, throughput, fault tolerance).
• Implement and optimise CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
• Deploy and manage containerised workloads (Docker, Kubernetes, Docker Swarm) with secure networking practices.
• Automate infrastructure and network provisioning using IaC tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Collaborate with software engineers to embed networking and DevOps best practices.

Required profile

• 5+ years of DevOps experience with a focus on networking.
• Deep understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, VPNs, firewalls, routing and load balancing.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud networking services (AWS VPC, Azure VNets, GCP VPC, etc.).
• Proven expertise in container orchestration and networking (Kubernetes, Docker Swarm).
• Proficiency with Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools (Terraform, Ansible or similar).
• Strong scripting/automation skills in Python, Bash or equivalent.
• Experience with CI/CD platforms (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions or similar).
• Solid knowledge of security best practices for network design.
