Senior Database Administrator

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Database Administrator who will be responsible for on‑premises and cloud database infrastructure administration. The role ensures that database services meet agreed service levels for availability, recoverability, performance, and scalability.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and manage high‑availability PostgreSQL architectures, including clustering and replication (Patroni, Amazon Aurora).
• Define and execute backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity procedures using tools such as pgBackRest and Barman.
• Monitor database performance, conduct capacity planning and proactively identify risks before they impact the business.
• Investigate production incidents, perform root‑cause analysis and drive remediation initiatives.
• Collaborate regularly with Development, QA and Support teams on database‑related requests.
• Participate in on‑call rotation and act as an escalation point for critical production issues.
• Apply cost‑reduction practices for cloud database infrastructure based on usage and load profiles.
• Oversee data migration projects, perform risk analysis and drive innovation in database technologies.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience administering PostgreSQL in mission‑critical production environments.
• Proven experience designing and operating high‑availability PostgreSQL solutions using Patroni and Amazon RDS/Aurora.
• Strong knowledge of Linux system administration and performance analysis.
