Senior Data Scientist – Marketing Measurement & Causal Inference

About the role

As a Senior Data Scientist in Flix's Commercial & Marketing Intelligence team, you will own and evolve the causal measurement practice, designing and running experiments that directly shape the allocation of the global marketing budget. You will collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Revenue Management, Reporting, and Engineering to ensure that incrementality evidence drives smarter, more transparent decisions at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Own the design, execution, and continuous improvement of geo‑based, time‑based, and synthetic‑control experiment frameworks across global markets.
• Apply econometric and causal‑inference techniques such as difference‑in‑differences, synthetic control, and Bayesian structural time series to quantify the incremental effect of marketing activities on bookings and revenue.
• Build and manage a structured test‑and‑learn programme across paid channels, prioritising experiments by expected business value.
• Contribute to the development and validation of attribution models (CLV‑MTA and MMM) and provide reliable benchmarks.
• Translate complex causal findings into clear, actionable recommendations for marketing, finance, and senior management.

Required profile

• Master's or PhD in Statistics, Econometrics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of experience in data science or quantitative research with hands‑on expertise in designing and evaluating causal experiments (geo experiments, time‑series holdouts, synthetic control).
• Strong command of causal inference methods such as difference‑in‑differences, synthetic control, Bayesian structural time series, or matched market testing.
• Proven ability to present statistical findings to non‑technical audiences and influence strategic decisions.
