Senior Construction Representative – Fort Buchanan

About the role

The Senior Construction Representative will oversee all phases of construction at Fort Buchanan, ensuring compliance with federal specifications, schedules, and safety standards. This position supports the government’s mission by delivering accurate surveillance reports and managing contract modifications.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare surveillance reports on workmanship, materials, and construction methods for government personnel.
• Investigate and assist with change orders and contract modifications.
• Develop detailed inspection requirements and control methods.
• Monitor construction progress against schedules, specifications, and shop drawings, identifying problems and recommending changes.
• Perform daily site inspections, document progress, safety issues, and subcontractor manpower.
• Review contractor plans, technical submittals, progress schedules, and safety/quality programs for approval.
• Advise the project team on potential delays and schedule impacts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship and ability to pass a federal background check and drug screen.
• High School Diploma/GED minimum; construction‑related degree preferred.
• At least 7 years of experience in construction contract administration and inspection on large, multimillion‑dollar federal projects (DoD or USACE preferred).

Required skills

• Experience with RMS 3.0 inspection software.
• Three‑phase inspection process knowledge.
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations and USACE Safety Manual EM 385‑1‑1.
• Knowledge of Life Safety Code (NFPA 101), National Electric Code (NFPA 70), International Plumbing Code (IPC), Fire Protection Systems (NFPA 13 & 72).
• Understanding of HVAC/TAB standards (ASHRAE/AABC/NEBB) and building commissioning.
• Experience with communications & security systems (IT, nurse call, imaging/IDS/PACS).
• Welding, painting, metalizing, and environmental HAZWOPER inspection expertise.
