Senior C++ Developer – Low‑Latency Trading Platform

About the role

We are seeking a Senior C++ Developer to join our Inetum team in Portugal and help build an ultra‑low latency algorithmic trading platform. You will work in a hybrid environment, collaborating with global engineering, business, and support teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain core modules, components, and utilities for a high‑performance trading platform.
• Own the full lifecycle of the platform, including development, CI/CD pipelines, support, and bug fixing.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, technical analysis, documentation, testing, and code reviews.
• Coordinate with global teams and production support for releases and maintenance.
• Drive innovation in a largely green‑field environment.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software development experience, with at least 2 years in a technical lead role.
• Strong understanding of design and architecture principles, data structures, and algorithms.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Experience with electronic trading platforms or other high‑load, real‑time systems is a plus.

Required skills

• Modern C++ (C++11/14/17/20), STL, Boost.
• Linux development tools: cmake, gcc, gdb.
• Unix scripting (Bash) and Python (optional).
• Agile development methodologies.
• Knowledge of FIX protocol or other fintech protocols (optional).
