Senior Backend Developers - Lisbon

About the role

Kelly IT Resources is looking for experienced Senior Backend Developers to join a UK‑based client with offices in Lisbon. The role focuses on building highly reliable, scalable backend services that meet stringent availability targets.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high‑quality backend software using agile methodologies.
• Write clean, reliable code and ensure 99.999% system availability.
• Develop APIs, both self‑hosted and application‑server based.
• Implement containerised solutions with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing tools.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, share knowledge and promote best practices.
• Participate in the full development lifecycle, from analysis to production support.

Required profile

• Strong motivation to learn new programming languages and technologies.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Creative thinking, analytical mindset and attention to detail.
• Excellent spoken English.
• Based in Lisbon and able to work onsite.
