Senior Android Engineer – Consumer Dating App

About the role

AgileEngine is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to design, build and maintain high‑quality features for a consumer‑facing dating application. You will work primarily with Kotlin, Jetpack Compose and XML‑based UI, taking ownership of features from design through release while helping shape Android architecture standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Android features that power the dating experience.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Designers to translate product vision into polished implementations.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery of features, including technical design, implementation, testing, release and iteration.
• Contribute to and evolve Android architecture and engineering standards across a large codebase.
• Leverage AI‑assisted development tools to improve productivity and code quality.
• Share AI best practices and tools with the team.
• Mentor junior Android engineers through code reviews, pairing and technical guidance.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience delivering production Android applications.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and modern Android development practices.
• Experience with Jetpack Compose and/or XML‑based UI.
• Proven ability to design and maintain architectures such as MVVM, MVI or Clean Architecture.
• Deep understanding of Android fundamentals, including lifecycle, threading, performance and memory management.
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs with offline handling.
• Excellent communication skills and an inclusive, collaborative mindset.
• Upper‑intermediate English proficiency.
