Senior Accountant – Centralized G/L Accounting

About the role

Join SIXT's International Accounting team as a (Senior) Accountant responsible for centralized general ledger accounting across multiple countries. You will ensure accurate, compliant financial reporting under IFRS and local GAAP while supporting high‑impact finance transformation projects.

Key responsibilities

• Manage centralized G/L accounting activities for several SIXT entities, guaranteeing accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in line with IFRS and local standards.
• Serve as the primary contact for the Germany‑based accounting team and external partners.
• Identify process inefficiencies and drive standardisation and improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to maintain smooth financial operations across regions.
• Contribute to finance projects such as the SAP S/4HANA rollout.

Required profile

• Solid hands‑on accounting experience or a background in audit/consulting with a clear motivation to transition to an in‑house role.
• Degree in Finance, Accounting or a comparable qualification.
• Proactive, solution‑oriented mindset with strong communication skills.
• Fluent in English; additional languages (German, French, Spanish) are a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with SAP or other ERP systems (SAP S/4HANA knowledge is a plus).
