About the role

Aprendizes, an independent bilingual school near Sintra National Park, is seeking a passionate Science Teacher for its Middle School. The position can be part‑time or full‑time for the 2026/27 academic year, with a focus on inquiry‑based, project‑driven learning.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging science lessons aligned with the Cambridge International Curriculum and/or Portuguese National Curriculum.
• Integrate digital literacy concepts into science units to enhance student competence with technology.
• Design and assess project‑based activities that connect scientific concepts to real‑world issues and the Sustainable Development Goals.
• Maintain a well‑managed classroom environment and support diverse learning needs.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary initiatives and contribute to the school’s holistic educational approach.

Required profile

• Passionate about science and STEM education, with a talent for making content relevant and exciting.
• Experience in student‑centered, inquiry‑based teaching methods.
• Collaborative mindset, innovative thinking, and commitment to fostering critical thinking and global citizenship.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a science or STEM field.
• Fluent English; proficiency in Portuguese is a plus.
