About the role

The Rooms Status Controller works at the front desk of a hotel, assigning rooms to guests based on their specific requests and travel patterns. The role supports repeat guests, confirms reservations and cancellations, and pre‑registers designated guests before arrival, aiming to boost guest preference for the brand.

Key responsibilities

• Assign hotel rooms to guests according to unique preferences and repeat‑guest patterns.
• Confirm reservations, process cancellations, and pre‑register guests prior to arrival.
• Coordinate staff and resources to meet guest needs and ensure smooth room allocation.
• Maintain accurate room status records and communicate updates to relevant departments.
• Assist in increasing overall guest satisfaction and brand loyalty.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• College coursework in a related field is helpful.
• Experience in a hotel or related hospitality environment preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Flexible schedule with the ability to work long or irregular hours.
• Physical ability to stand for an entire shift and lift up to 20 lb occasionally.
