Robotics Mechanical Design Engineer – Porto

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop robotics systems for real‑world agricultural environments. Based in Porto, you will own the full product lifecycle from CAD design through assembly, supplier coordination and field deployment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using CAD tools.
• Create and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) with version control.
• Improve assembly processes, produce documentation and support hands‑on engineering.
• Visit customer sites to evaluate product performance during trials and deployments.
• Collaborate with electrical and software teams to ensure seamless system integration.
• Implement design improvements based on field feedback, manufacturing constraints and cost optimisation.
• Assist with product certification (CE marking, Machinery Directive) and prepare technical documentation.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in mechanical design or product engineering, preferably in robotics, machinery or industrial equipment.
• Hands‑on experience assembling, testing and building mechanical products.
• Experience working on field deployments and interacting with customers.
• Familiarity with product certification processes such as CE marking is a strong plus.
• Willingness to work onsite in Porto, Portugal.

Required skills

• SolidWorks, Fusion 360 or equivalent CAD software.
• Bill of Materials (BOM) management.
• Mechanical prototyping and assembly.
• Understanding of CE marking and Machinery Directive requirements.
