Risk Officer Trainee – Operational & Climate Risk

About the role

We are seeking a proactive and analytical trainee to join our Global Risk and Reporting Department. This position offers a unique opportunity to learn and contribute to the bank’s non‑financial risk framework, focusing on Operational Risk and Climate & Environmental risks.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Operational Risk framework, including identification, registration, validation, and follow‑up of risk events.
• Assist in preparing periodic Operational Risk reports for management, analysing trends and mitigation plans.
• Contribute to the annual Risk and Control Self‑Assessment (RCSA) cycle: risk identification, taxonomy mapping, and inventory maintenance.
• Perform challenge and validation activities as part of the 2nd Line of Defense, ensuring consistency between inherent risk, controls, and residual risk.
• Track and support mitigation actions from RCSA and Operational Risk events, including status monitoring and escalation.
• Support the Climate & Environmental risk framework by assisting in assessments, monitoring indicators/KRIs, and integrating C&E considerations into reporting.
• Help improve the internal control environment by documenting processes, proposing enhancements, and supporting training materials.

Required profile

• Strong analytical thinking and structured problem‑solving.
• Attention to detail with solid documentation skills.
• Proactive, self‑motivated and eager to learn regulatory and governance requirements.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
• Degree or master’s in Auditing, Accounting, Management Control, Tax, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Data/Analytics, or related fields.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel (intermediate level or higher).
• Basic proficiency with data tools such as SQL or Python (a plus).
