Research Partnerships & Grants Development Specialist – Professorship

About the role

Tomorrow University is seeking a senior professional to lead the development of external research funding and partnerships. Working closely with the Vice President of Research, the specialist will drive the university’s research strategy, build international consortia and secure competitive grants across European and global programmes. The position includes a formal professorial appointment, allowing involvement in teaching and supervision of bachelor’s and master’s theses linked to funded projects.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Vice President of Research to implement and evolve the university’s research strategy.
• Identify and evaluate national and international funding opportunities aligned with institutional priorities.
• Develop and manage international research consortia, including partner outreach and coordination.
• Write and submit high‑quality grant proposals to European, German and other international funding bodies.
• Secure competitive research funding and manage awarded grants.
• Contribute to teaching activities and supervise bachelor’s and master’s theses related to funded projects.
• Engage learners in funded research projects through thesis work and project participation.

Required profile

• Academic background meeting German professorial requirements.
• Proven experience in research development, grant management or consortium building.
• Track record of successful grant acquisition in European or international programmes.
• Ability to work remotely within Central European Time (±2 hours).
